Alex Hales announces he will only play 'white-ball' cricket

England opener Alex Hales has expressed he will only play white-ball cricket, be it in the international or domestic circuit.

The explosive batsman Hales has signed a new contract with Nottinghamshire. The 29-year-old batsman to play limited-overs cricket for them until the end of the 2019 season.

Hales is one of the most destructive opening batsmen in World cricket at the moment and was instrumental in the success of Nottinghamshire in the 2017 season where they won both the One Day cup as well as the T20 Blast.

Hales is one of the key players in the England limited-overs set-up. He has played a major role in the transformation of England.

However, Hales has not enjoyed much of a success in the Test format. he last plays a Test for England in 2016 against Pakistan.

The opening batsman Alex Hales has played just 11 Tests for England and has scored just 573 runs at an average of 27. Hales has recognized that he is not a Test cricket.

Hales has now followed his English teammate Adil Rashid who has also decided to play just white-ball cricket for Yorkshire.

Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell said, We respect Alex’s decision. He’s an outstanding white-ball player. He’s entitled to make himself available for whatever format he wants to play.”

Newel also added, “We look forward to him helping us win more trophies in that format of the game. He was integral to our success in 50- and 20-over cricket last summer.”
