The host Australia have decimated England, as they clinched the Magellan Ashes 3-0 by winning the third match at the WACA, Perth by an innings and 41 runs.
Australia declared after posting a mammoth total of 662 for the loss of nine wickets in reply to England’s 403 in the first innings. Mitchell Marsh, who was drafted into the first eleven in place of Peter Handscomb registered his career-best 181 runs along with skipper Steven Smith who reached his second double hundred which helped Australia to take a huge lead.
England’s poor show with the bat continues, as once again experienced Alastair Cook and skipper Joe Root failed to make a mark, as the Australian bowlers gave all sorts of problems to the touring England team.
England went into the bat in the second innings with 259 runs behind. Although James Vince and Dawid Malan formed a little resistance in front of the Aussie attack, Vince was outdone by a scorcher of a delivery off Mitchell Starc, which is now considered as the ball of the century.

Credit to Nathan Lyon, if I had my fingernail ripped back by a cricket ball I’d be checking myself into hospital, evoking a power of attorney, and possibly writing a dramatic musical about my suffering. #Ashes

What better way to trial four day Tests than two dead #Ashes rubbers no?

A few overs of brilliance can give you The T20. A couple of hours of brilliance can win you the ODI. But even a day of dominance doesn’t guarantee a Test win. Gotta love Tests. #Ashes #Perth
