Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim feels the performance in the Nidahas Trophy are signs that Bangladesh are improving in the shortest format.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh reached the finals beating Sri Lanka in the group stages twice. However, they lost the final to India by a narrow margin. Dinesh Karthik’s blistering knock of 29 off 8 balls including a last-ball six sealed the game for India.

Rahim was in good touch in the tournament and helped Bangladesh reach the final of the tri-series. He played a match-winning knock in assisting Bangladesh registering their record chase of 215 runs in T20Is. He followed it up with another fifty against India but went in the losing cause.

Still, some work left:

However, Bangladesh has shown they are capable of playing an aggressive brand of cricket. While Shakib Al Hasan hailed the side, Rahim feels there’s still some work left.

To be honest, we have not become that good a side in T20s till now. There are some things which we can improve upon and our team management and coaching staff are looking at those things,” he pointed out. “At least there was this confidence that we were doing well in ODI and Test formats the last few years and on our day we can beat anyone. I think in T20s we are slowly gaining that confidence as well.

We made it to the final and in that respect, it does feel good but it is natural that everyone will feel bad after the defeat. But we feel we will take the experience forward and make it count in the upcoming future,” he added.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh will now to Windies 2 Test matches, 2 ODIs, and one-off T20Is.
