BBL 2017/18: Twitter Reacts as Brisbane Heat Beats Melbourne Stars by 15 Runs

Brisbane Heat held on to their nerves as Melbourne Stars fell 15 runs short of the huge target posted by the Heat. Melbourne Stars won the toss and chose to field first. However, the decision backfired for the Stars as Brendon McCullum scored 22 balls 40 to give a quick start to the hosts. Joe Burns and Alex Ross scored 50 and 51 respectively to take the total to 206/7. Ben Cutting scored a very helpful 35 in 18 down the order.

For Stars Marcus Stoinis picked three wickets in his quota of four overs. Michael Beer also chipped in with two wickets.

The Stars started poorly in the run chase as they lost Ben Dunk for a 0 early in the innings. Kevin Pietersen, Luke Wright and Glen Maxwell got out in order to accelerate the run rate. Marcus Stoinis and James Faulkner were then involved in a 137 runs partnership. Stoinis fell short by one run of a well deserved hundred. Faulkner scored 47 runs. Stars scored 191/6 in their 20 overs.
