Former Australian chinaman bowler, Brad Hogg, has questioned Chris Lynn’s place in the side and has said that a team cannot have a player in the set-up who is under an injury cloud,

“I just don’t see how they continue with Chris Lynn until he is fully fit, he’s played a full Big Bash season. He’s a fantastic player. You want him in the Australian set-up…but you can’t play a player who is under an injury cloud and can’t dive in the field. When they do play in that World Cup tournament in a year or two’s time, Steve Smith will come in for Chris Lynn unless he fixes himself up from that injury,” Hogg told Fox Sports News.

Lynn, who has a history of injury list, suffered a shoulder injury once again when he dived during the final of Trans-Tasman against New Zealand.

Later, the report confirmed that he had dislocated his shoulder, which ruled him out of the Pakistan Super League.

In fact, now, there are doubts over his participation in Indian Premier League too.

Scans later this week will confirm whether he would play the T20 league in India or not.

Injuries have always curtailed his participation in international cricket too.

Last year in June, he operated for surgery on his shoulder and returned for Big Bash League

He was also included in the ODI side for the series against England but missed the series due to a calf injury.

Last year, when he made his ODI debut against Pakistan, he missed the rest of series after just one game due to a neck injury.

Regular injuries have had their impact on Lynn’s career, and the right-handed batsman will have to find a solution to it.

Also, with Australian team still looking at one of him and Maxwell, the race is open for the ODI spot in the team.

Lynn got a preference for the England ODIs, but he might take a back seat soon.

Surely, with just 15 months remaining to World Cup, Lynn has at least play for one year without any injury to book his place for the World Cup.

The upcoming IPL season (if he participates) will be a barometer to judge his fitness as it will tell whether he could sustain to play for two months continuously.
