World T20 Champions West Indies is scheduled to tour India in October and November for three Tests, five One-dayers, and a one-off T20I. The T20I game between India and West Indies would be hosted by Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on November 4.

The President of Cricket Association of Bengal, Sourav Ganguly, confirmed the latest development on Saturday. Interestingly, this is the same ground where they clinched the World T20 Championship by defeating England back in 2016.

This was also the last T20I game hosted by Eden Gardens, Kolkata. “We will host the Caribbean Team for the one-off T20 international at the Eden Gardens,” said Sourav Ganguly according to DNA.

West Indies toured India last back in 2013. India hosted the Carribeans for a two-match Test series and 3-match ODI series.

Indians won the Test series by a margin of 2-0 and clinched the ODI series by 2-1. The series is remembered for Sachin Tendulkar playing his last International game at his hometown at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Furthermore, Kolkata might also host the Indian Premier League (IPL) Qualifiers as a back up for Pune. The Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) is slated to host the Eliminator and the second Qualifiers of the IPL.

Additionally, the Eden Gardens will be hosting all the home matches of Kolkata Knight Riders. The likes of Chris Lynn, Andre Russell, and Sunil Narine start off amongst uncertainties for KKR this season.

Interestingly, the KKR think-tank retained the services of the both the above mentioned West Indians prior to the auctions of IPL. Dinesh Karthik will be leading the KKR side this season as their inspirational captain Gautam Gambhir.

Moreover, the other stars to look out for this season for KKR are Mitchell Johnson, Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, Robin Uthappa and Cameron Delport. Also, India’s U19 sensation, Shubman Gill and Kamlesh Nagarkoti would also be featuring in the squad.
