In the wake of the Covid-19 threat, the series will be played behind closed doors and in order to make up for the absence of the atmosphere generated by the presence of fans, fake audio is set to be played, following the success of the experiment in the recently held Football games.

Both England and West Indies have decided in principle to let music and audio play in the background which will also include enhanced connection of the leather on willow, according to a report published in the Times.

Both teams will now decide as to which noise-filling tracks will be played in between the overs and other crucial junctures of the match.

Recently, West Indies pace-bowling spearhead Kemar Roach had reckoned that it will be strange to play in front of empty stands in a country like England, a country which normally boasts of huge crowds even in Test matches, adding that he’d like some sort of noise to play in the background.

“Some noise around would be great. It will be strange for us playing in England where there is always a lot of crowd noise and atmosphere,” Kemar Roach had told the Times.

Meanwhile, fans will be able to hear audio through the stump microphone, as usual, but in the current scenario, the audio could be shut down between overs to prevent any sort of abuse getting overheard and exaggerated in a silent background.

The officials have informed players from both sides to be mindful of what they say during the Test match.
