The third-match between India and Australia was called off due to the wet outfield in Hyderabad and the series ended in a draw, as both captains shared the trophy.

India won the first match, while the second one Australia managed to win easily by eight wickets. Australia’s tour of India has been very difficult, they lost the ODI series 4-1 and just when there was momentum on the visitor’s side for the T20 series decider, the match had to be called off.

Meanwhile, India’s next assignment will begin shortly, as the Men in Blue will take on New Zealand in three One Day Internationals and the T20s starting on 22nd October.

The Indian will soon be announced for the same and many changes are expected to take place in this series. The India captain and team management have already decided that they want to try out different options before the next World Cup, we can expect a lot of new faces in the upcoming squad for the series against New Zealand.

Here’re five players who can make it to the squad :

 Karn Sharma

The leg-spinner has played some games for India but couldn’t manage to cement his place in the international circuit. Currently, Karn Sharma is in brilliant form with the ball, he has picked up wickets in the four-day match and even in the limited overs fixtures against New Zealand A in the ongoing series.

With the two-young spinners doing well, he can be looked as another option for the future.

Ankit Bawne

The right-handed batsman from Maharashtra is scoring big runs in the domestic circuit and he has been under the guidance of former India great, Rahul Dravid for some time now.

Ankit recently scored a brilliant unbeaten 83 to take the India A towards a tie, where at one stage the match was out of their reach when the Men in Blue lost five wickets for 84 runs chasing 270 for the victory.

Rishab Pant

The left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman has done well in all the opportunities that have come his way and he can be the best option to check the alternate for the former skipper, MS Dhoni.

Pant is an explosive batsman like Dhoni and he can be tried in the coming series, as a backup for Mahi because there is no doubt that MS Dhoni will be the first choice for the next ICC Cricket World Cup.

Suresh Raina

Suresh Raina is playing well in the domestic arena, though he has not had a big score under his belt, his experience puts him in front of any of the players that are expecting a call-up to the Indian team.

Raina is currently playing Ranji Trophy for Uttar Pradesh and unlike Yuvraj Singh, his yo-yo test result have not gone public, so he might clear the only hurdle for a national call back.

Ravindra Jadeja

The rest for Ravindra Jadeja might finally end in the upcoming series against New Zealand. Jadeja has been on a rest for a long time now and selectors have tried some options in place of him, who have done well.

The all-round though brings so much to the table and have the edge of experience that it is hardly a matter of time before he is back in the Indian colours.
