Murali Vijay

Tamil Nadu batsman, Murali Vijay, has said that he felt let down when his commitment was questioned during the Vijay Hazare Trophy,

“I just feel sad for whatever that has happened. Things could have been handled better. I’m set to talk with the TNCA officials soon and I feel things will be fine. I felt let down that my commitment was questioned and I was hurt. I love playing for Tamil Nadu and take a lot of pride in representing the state. My dream is to win the Ranji Trophy for TN and I’m confident it will happen.”

Vijay came in the spotlight when he did not report to the team for their game against Mumbai.

He only informed the coach in the morning at 7:30 AM about the shoulder pain and the team had to find a new opener.

Later, TNCA dropped Vijay from the squad for the last three matches due to non-reporting on the match day.

It all also had an impact on team’s performance and Tamil Nadu crashed out in the league stage with just two wins.

The defending champions failed to make it to the second round.

They had a poor run in Ranji Trophy too.

They could not win even a single contest during the Ranji Trophy.

In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Tamil Nadu won just one of three games to crash out of the tournament.
