While India opted against a practice session, South Africa opted in favour of it.

The hosts are looking to prevent themselves fro another defeat in the ODI series.

South Africa have already lost the series and are trailing by a margin of 4-1.

A win in the final ODI will help South Africa close out the ODI series on a winning note while a loss will further bring down South Africa’s confidence.

The prime reason behind South Africa’s failure in the ODI series has been the injuries to key players.

Skipper, Faf du Plessis, was ruled out after the first ODI after he suffered a finger injury while batting. He played an innings of 120.

Later, Quinton de Kock was also ruled out due to a wrist injury.

The hosts were already without the services of AB de Villiers, who ruled out first three ODIs due to a finger injury.

Further, South African selectors handed the captaincy to Aiden Markam, who is yet to complete one year in international cricket.

All this went against South Africa and they lost the series.

The final ODI will be an opportunity for them to bid adieu to the ODI series with their heads high and gaining confidence going into the T20I series.

The sixth and the final ODI of the series will be played on February 16 at Supersport Park in Centurion.

A three-match T20I series will follow the one-dayers.

The three-match T20I series starts on February 18.
