Sunrisers Hyderabad went on to become the team to beat in this year’s IPL on the back of a potent bowling attack.

The depth and variety in their bowling attack can get deduced by the fact that bowlers of the class of Jordan and Sandeep Sharma are made to warm the benches when SRH plays at full strength.

Sharma, who represented India back in 2015 during the Zimbabwe tour, has been an integral part of the Kings XI Punjab side for the past five seasons.

This time around, he plays as a back up for the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the SRH squad.

Sandeep made a solitary appearance in the IPL this season when Bhuvi suffered a niggle and missed out against Mumbai Indians. In the match, the Punjab bowler went on to scalp a couple of wickets at an economical rate.

Our team has done well. We have a good bowling attack. I want to do well whenever I get a chance and contribute to the wins. I want to keep it simple and learn as much as I can and do well when I get a chance,” replied Sandeep Sharma about the new backup role at Hyderabad.

However, the 24-year old takes it as an opportunity to train under legends such, as VVS Laxman and Muttiah Muralitharan.

Sandeep mentioned is an honour to receive inputs from the greats mentioned above of the game.

What I looked forward was working with a separate set of coaches. There are always new things to learn. VVS Laxman is a legend of the game and I am honoured to take tips from him. So is Muttiah Muralitharan,” said the former India U19 player while talking to CricketCountry.

The former Kings XI Punjab seamer is already on the leaderboard in the tally of the most number of wickets (73 wickets in 57 matches.

There is so much knowledge to gain from these greats. Tom Moody is a great help. [There have been] many positives due to the shift. Change is good. You need a change at various junctures in your life,” Sandeep professed.

Interactions with Bhuvi at SRH

Also, with his stint at Hyderabad, Sandeep rubs shoulder with the best bowler in the country, Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

It has been good. I have been talking to him (Bhuvi). We may both be the same kind of bowler but the mindset is different while bowling. We have been sharing ideas. I am trying to learn from him and it is working well,” concluded Sandeep Sharma.
