The 2018 IPL auction saw some surprising buys and all the teams had taken shape after two restless days of auction.
All in all a jaw-dropping 431.7 crores were spent by the IPL franchise’s across two days to build a team for the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League. Team owners have now partially done their job and have picked some of the biggest names in world cricket for the mega event in the coming months.
Every team has majorly covered all the aspects in their side and have kept in mind the about who will lead the side in the upcoming editions.
However, only two do not have an international captain in their sides which are Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab. Kings XI Punjab is one of the strongest looking team on paper with the likes of Chris Gayle, Aaron Finch, Yuvraj Singh, KL Rahul, David Miller and Ravichandran Ashwin in their side.
Punjab has also bought players like Mayank Aggarwal, Andrew Tye, Barinder Sran etc. and had earlier retained just one player, Axar Patel.
Punjab would also be happy after buying Chris Gayle after he remained unsold in the previous two rounds. Punjab bowlers must have taken a sigh of relief, as Gayle has scored the most number of runs against Kings Xi Punjab than any other team.
