Sunrisers Hyderabad: 8/10
Sunrisers Hyderabad has managed to retain their core set of players as they used the Right To Match (RTM) card well. They retained skipper David Warner and Bhuvneshwar Kumar ahead of the auctions and used RTM for Shikhar Dhawan, Deepak Hooda, and Rashid Khan.
However, Hyderabad has as many as eight overseas cricketers in their squad. With Warner and Rashid Khan guaranteed in the first XI, it is a problem of plenty to pick the other two.
Hyderabad has a strong batting line-up and will bank on it more than anything else to win them matches. With batsmen like Shikhar Dhawa, David Warner, Manish Pandey, Carlos Brathwaite, and Yusuf Pathan on their ranks they can create fireworks.
However, Hyderabad’s bowling also has a good variety with Bhuvneshwar Kumar leading the pack. They will also depend heaving on young Afghanistan sensation Rashid Khan, who has been in terrific form in the Big Bash League. Apart from Bhuvneshwar and Rashid, Siddharth Kaul’s ability and young talents like Khaleel Ahmed and Basil Thampi is also useful when needed.
Players like Pandey, Yusuf, and Deepak would provide them with various options in the middle. Pandey is one of the fittest players in the country and is swift between the wickets while Pathan and Hooda have the ability to clear the ropes. Moreover, Pathan can chip in with crucial overs.
Addition of Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will provide a lot of balance to the squad. He is a very impact cricketer and can contribute in all the departments as he did with Kolkata Knight Riders. With the kind of experience he has with both and ball, SRH can dominate any opposition.
