Delhi Daredevils got off to a brilliant start, banking on young Prithvi Shaw and Colin Munro against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi.

Meanwhile, Delhi dropped Gautam Gambhir, who recently stepped down from the captaincy. Shaw, who impressed one and all in the last game showed his real mettle in this game.

Kolkata captain Dinesh Karthik put the home team to bat with the dew settling in the latter half of the game.

Shaw and Munro came all guns blazing at the Knight Riders’ bowlers. While Shaw played some classical shots, Munro hammered the balls all over the park.

The duo added 59 runs in seven overs before Munro (33 off 18) departed from a perfect yorker of Shivam Mavi. The southpaw’s knock included four boundaries and two sixes.

However, Shaw, on the other end, was at his usual best. He played some delightful shots to get to his first ever IPL fifty.

Shaw does an MS Dhoni

Meanwhile, Shaw stunned everyone, as he whipped Mitchell Johnson with a perfect helicopter shot over the mid-wicket region. It was the last ball of the ninth over, as Prithvi rolls his wrist over the length delivery.

Moreover, Dhoni is likely to get excited to see a young batsman play his trademark shot.

However, Shaw departed scoring 62 runs off 41 balls including seven fours and two sixes. It will surely boost Delhi’s confidence and solve the opener’s problem.

The home team is also in line to post a huge target and give their bowlers enough runs bowl at.
