IPL 2018: Watch - Gautam Gambhir Awestruck with Shreyas Iyer's Brilliance

Outgoing Delhi Daredevils (DD) skipper, Gautam Gambhir was awestruck by the brilliance of Shreyas Iyer, who took over the reigns from him, as Delhi returned to winning ways against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 55 runs.

Batting first, Delhi banked on their new skipper, Shreyas Iyer and posted a staggering 219 runs on the board. Iyer remained unbeaten on 93 runs off just 40 deliveries including ten towering sixes.

Moreover, young Prithvi Shaw also registered his first fifty in the IPL, as he contributed with 62 runs.

Meanwhile, in reply, KKR struggled because of their failing top-order. The likes of Robin Uthappa and Nitish Rana have been the mainstays of Kolkata, who failed to get going.

The Delhi bowlers did an amazing job keeping the batsmen in check. However, Shubman Gill (37) and Andre Russell (44) tried their best, but it wasn’t enough, as they fell short by 55 runs.

As a result, Delhi will have now two wins from their seven games and will look to continue the winning momentum.

Gambhir stunned by Iyer

Iyer was brilliant in his debut match as a captain, leading the team from the front. So far, Delhi lacked the leader, and it seems like they have found one.

He played some gorgeous shots leaving all everybody in the stadium stunned. However, one of his magical shot had left his former captain awestruck.

Iyer slapped one over the cover region with sheer brilliance as the ball flew over the boundary ropes. Gambhir was impressed merely with was evident from his facial expression.

Meanwhile, Delhi will like to continue this momentum going into the next match. They will have to win games on a trot to qualify for the playoffs.
