Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will host the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 33rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018. The Dinesh Karthik-led team has thus far won 50% of their matches as they have won four out of the eight games.

The Kolkata franchise will have their work cut out as they will face table-toppers Super Kings.

Chennai has been clinical in their performance as they have won six matches out of the eight they have played.

Kolkata is coming into the contest after a six-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Thus, Dinesh Karthik’s team would be riding high on confidence.

Meanwhile, when these two teams had met earlier in the season, Chennai was able to get the better of Kolkata by five wickets.

Sunil Narine is once again having a fine season. The all-rounder is chipping in his contribution at the top of the order.

Narine has also breathed down the neck of the opposition batsmen.

Chris Lynn:

Chris Lynn played a match-winning knock in the last match against Royal Challengers.

The combative right-handed batter Lynn scored 62 runs and made the most of the opportunity after getting dropped by Murugan Ashwin early on during his innings.

Robin Uthappa has continued his love affair with the thirties in this season.

However, the flamboyant batsman will like to make the most of his starts in the remainder of the games.

Ishank Jaggi

Ishank Jaggi is expected to get his chance in place of injured Nitish Rana. The right-handed batsman has thus far played seven IPL matches in which he has accumulated 76 runs.

 

Andre Russell:

Andre Russell scalped three wickets in the last match against Royal Challengers led by Virat Kohli.

Although, the power-hitter could not contribute with the bat. Russell had scored a blistering knock of 88 off just 36 balls against Super Kings earlier in the season.

Thus he would like to repeat his earlier performance.

Dinesh Karthik:

Dinesh Karthik provided a fine finishing touch in the last match against RCB.

Kolkata’s skipper scored a cameo of 23 runs off just 10 balls to help his side in chasing down the target.

Shubman Gill:

Shubman Gill has also impressed even while batting lower down the order.

The youngster is hitting the ball straight down the wicket which is an impressive sight for the team in particular.

Shivam Mavi:

Shivam Mavi went wicketless in the last match against RCB.

However, the youngster was economical in his spell as he conceded only 21 runs in three overs.

Piyush Chawla:

Piyush Chawla has scalped six wickets thus far in the eight matches.

The leg-spinner was able to get a tight hold on the proceedings in the last match as he gave away only 22 runs in three overs.

Tom Curran:

As Mitchell Johnson is proving to be expensive, Tom Curran should replace him in the final XI.

England fast bowler has impressed in the limited opportunities he has received.

For Kolkata Knight Riders Kuldeep Yadav had a good last game against RCB.

The mystery spinner was able to take one wicket and gave away only 20 runs in his quota of four overs.
