The Delhi Daredevils (DD) will lock horns against in-form Kings XI Punjab in the 22nd match of the Indian Premier Leagues’ (IPL) edition eleven.

Pertinently, it is going to be a clash between the IPL 2018 points table leader (2nd position due to Net run-rate) versus the bottom most side.

Gautam Gambhir-led team Daredevils is at the bottom of the points table following the poor run so far in the competition. Thus, Delhi franchise will look to move up the ladder.

It has been a disappointing start from Delhi as they haven’t yet discovered their winning combination. Their batting has displayed performance in bit and pieces. And, moreover, their bowling has also looked wayward.

On the other hand, Kings XI Punjab has come up with an altogether different performance. They have received a shot in the arm since Chris Gayle made an appearance in their line-up.

Daredevils have lost four matches and have won a solitary contest, whereas, KXIP’s win-loss column read totally opposite of their counterparts.

Here is a look at the Predicted Playing XI of the Delhi Daredevils:

Gautam Gambhir hasn’t looked at his usual best in the ongoing season. The Delhi captain has tried to hit the ball hard and subsequently failed.

It is noteworthy that Gambhir relies on timing the ball for his runs.

Jason Roy:

Jason Roy had played a majestic knock against reigning champions Mumbai Indians.

However, the England batsman has failed to repeat his magic afterward. He would be aiming to deliver punch above his weight in all-important clash.

Shreyas Iyer:

Shreyas Iyer played a good knock of 52 runs in the last match. Delhi had their backs against the wall but the right-hander had helped his team to come back into the contest.

He is expected to be a key for the home team for this game.

Rishabh Pant:

Rishabh Pant is smashing the ball to all the corners of the ground. The aggressive southpaw had played a fine knock of 85 runs off just 48 balls.

Furthermore, wicketkeeper-batsman has accumulated 223 runs in the five matches he has played. It is a good sign for Daredevils at least to bank on.

Glenn Maxwell:

Glenn Maxwell hasn’t completely found his touch yet. The Aussie all-rounder has the capability to be a match-winner in the shortest format.

Thus, it is imperative that he hits the ground running for Delhi.

Rahul Tewatia:

Rahul Tewatia has impressed with the ball. However, he has not been able to deliver with the bat.

The leg-spinner has scalped six wickets in the five matches. He is bound to be crucial with the ball for Daredevils against confident KXIP.

Chris Morris:

Chris Morris hasn’t been able to repeat his magic of previous seasons.

The Proteas all-rounder hasn’t looked at the top of his game thus far.

However, Morris can be utilized as a floater at the top of the order.

Vijay Shankar:

Vijay Shankar hasn’t been utilized well by Delhi. The all-rounder can be promoted up the order to play with freedom.

Amit Mishra:

It is hard to understand that why Delhi is not playing leg-spinner Amit Mishra.

The experienced professional had taken a beating in the opening match against KXIP. Thus, he has been overlooked in the final XI.

Trent Boult:

Trent Boult has been the most impressive Delhi bowler.

The Kiwi would like to keep his form going. Meanwhile, Boult had also taken a blinder of a catch in the last match.

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami had missed the last match. The Indian fast bowler should be back in the last XI while considering his ability to leave an impact.
