IPL 2018: Prithi Ashwin Rues Missing a Thrilling RCB-CSK Tie in Bengaluru

Prithi Ashwin, the wife of Kings XI Punjab (XIP) skipper Ravichandran Ashwin, has regretted bitterly while missing out on a thrilling clash between host side Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and visiting team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday night.

Leader from the front Mahendra Singh Dhoni was in full swing against Bangalore as CSK beat them by five wickets in the last over.

Batting first, the Virat Kohli and his men posted a massive total of 205 runs on the board while riding on the fifties of AB de Villiers (68) and Quinton de Kock (53) respectively.

The Proteas duo added 103 runs as it set the platform for a staggering total.

However, in between some late blows from Mandeep Singh ensured Bangalore cross the 200-run mark.

The Chennai bowlers came back strongly in the latter half of the game to restrict the side who were going exceedingly well.

In reply, Chennai lost Shane Watson early in the first over. However, Ambati Rayadu ensured that they are well on par with the asking rate.

Moreover, Rayadu (82) has been a revelation for CSK in this edition of the league.

However, it was the Dhoni show that saw the visitors home without any trouble. Dhoni remained unbeaten 70 runs off just 34 deliveries including one four and seven sixes.

As a result, CSK crawls back to the top position in the IPL 2018 points table.

Lady Ashwin took to Twitter to express her disappointment of missing the match last night.

She also admitted that she picked the worst night to sleep early.

Meanwhile, Prthi’s husband, Ravi Ashwin, who is leading Punjab is on a stroll while winning games on the trot. He will look to keep the winning run going when they face Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 26 (Thursday).
