It was an MS Dhoni special at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore which helped Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to continue their indomitable run in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The former Indian skipper Dhoni was at his imperious best. He started taking on the Bangalore bowlers from the outset. Dhoni eventually finished the match off with a huge six on the bowling of Corey Anderson.

The chase of 206 was also the highest in this year’s edition. He remained unbeaten on 70 of just 34 deliveries, an innings which was studded with a four and seven sixes.

Ambati Rayudu, on the other hand, played a role of an anchor. He was the one who started off the Chennai innings with some unbelievable shots.

However, with wickets falling around him, Rayudu had to minimize the risks. When Dhoni joined him at the crease Chennai was precariously placed on 74 for four in nine overs.

Leg-spinner Yuzvnedra Chahal bagged a couple of wickets in quick succession as Chennai was pushed to the backfoot.

Dhoni was in attacking mood from the outset. He smashed his second delivery of Pawan Negi for a huge six and added one more in the very next over of Corey Anderson.

Negi wasn’t spared in his next over also. The captain cool began with a sensational straight six which almost hit the commentators. The next one also went sailing over the deep mid-wicket boundary for yet another six.

It was an absolute carnage on display by Dhoni. Rayudu, on the other hand, went about his job in an unfazed manner. He struck some exceptional shots during his innings of 81 before getting run out for the third time in the tournament.

Dhoni was joined by Carribean all-rounder Dwayne Bravo. Kohli handed over the penultimate over to Mohammed Siraj.

After a sensational sliced six from Dhoni over the point region, Siraj came under the pump and ended up bowling three consecutive wide deliveries.

Paceman Siraj conceded 14 runs which brought the calculation down to 16 of the last six balls. Bravo, who was there on strike smashed a four and a six to begin the over. While the four came from an outside edge, the six went over his favourite extra cover region.

In the end, it was Dhoni who sealed the deal with a gigantic six over the long-on region in the fourth delivery of the final over. It went sailing over the fence – to hand Chennai a memorable victory.

A fan switches to Chennai from Bangalore:

Despite the match being played at Chinnaswamy, there were several Chennai supporters. Well, when Dhoni is there then you are bound to get that sort of a support anywhere in the country.

One such incident happened yesterday as Dhoni walked in the middle.
