Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner Sunil Narine became the second bowler to dismiss Rohit Sharma alongside Vinay Kumar. The Windies leg-spinner spinner reached this stat after dismissing Rohit yet again in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday (May 6).

Having lost the toss in a must-win game against Kolkata, Indians were put into bat first. Openers Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis gave Mumbai a positive start. The duo had managed to add on an impressive 91-run stand for the first wicket.

However, once Lewis was dismissed, Indians skipper Rohit walked in. He looked solid and got a decent start but his nemesis Narine got the better off him once again. Having got the start they needed, Rohit once again failed with the bat for his side.

The right-handed batsman Rohit went for a slog sweep and got the ball high on the bat. Substitute fielder Rinku Singh, who was guarding the deep mid wicket boundary, latched onto an easy catch.

Eventually, the dismissal meant Sunil Narine has now dismissed Rohit Sharma six times, a record that is only matched by Vinay Kumar.

Sunil Narine Continues To Be Main Man For KKR

The Windies cricketer has been the main go-to man for the team once again this season. His effectiveness with the bat inside the powerplay overs makes him a very valuable asset for the team.

Narine’s mastery with the ball coupled with his wicket-taking ability has helped Knight Riders in important games so far this season. The team had slowly climbed into the top four, after a slow start to their campaign.

The experienced campaigner Narine will be a very important player for the team in the coming games if they were to make it to the playoffs this season.

Sunil Narine will also need more backing from other bowlers as the bowling looks to be a problem for the side so far in IPL 2018.
