Controversies have marred the ongoing Ashes battle between England and Australia and the England players have been facing the flak of late for their indecent behaviour off the field. Kevin Pietersen added fuel to the fire with his tweet. England’s chances of making a comeback in the Ashes again took a hit when the news of Ben Duckett facing disciplinary charges for an alcohol-related issue in Perth. The left-hander who has represented England in 4 Tests so far is in Australia and was in line to play a warm-up game for an England XI over the course of this weekend.
Following the incident, he was subsequently dropped from the squad and was replaced by Joe Clarke. His future England selection won’t be entertained either as the England Cricket Board (ECB) gives their best efforts in restoring the pride of England. Meanwhile, the full details of the incident are still vague, but as per reports, it was Duckett who poured alcohol over a senior English player after an argument.
He wasn’t involved in a brawl with any other members barring the England squads and no police was or will be involved. The security team of England was present with the players during the whole incident. If it were a decade or two ago, the situation would have been laughed off, but the current situation is different. Ben Stokes is still awaiting the investigation procedures while Jonny Bairstow was alleged for head-butting an Australian player.
Meanwhile former England captain Kevin Pietersen expressed his disappointment regarding England’s current situation and also took a dig at Andrew Strauss who is the current Director of the England team. Pietersen didn’t have a great relationship with Strauss during his playing days. He was accused of sending derogatory messages to some of the South African players about Strauss which led to his eventual ouster from the team.
Taking to his twitter handle, Pietersen wrote, “What the hell is happening in English Cricket?!?! Strauss????? It’s becoming a f*****g embarrassment!

Ben Duckett dropped from England match v CA XI and suspended pending investigation into late-night incident in bar. More embarrassment for England.
