Former India captain, Sourav Ganguly, has praised Dinesh Karthik for his knock in the final of Nidahas Trophy.

Karthik scored 29* runs off just eight balls to lead India to win in the final two overs of the game.

He came in at a time when India needed 34 off 12 balls.

Karthik scored 16 runs on the first three balls he faced and smashed 22 runs in the 19th over in total.

In the last over, India needed 12 runs to win with Vijay Shankar on the crease.

Karthik played the second ball of 20th over and ran for a single.

He only came back to bat on the final delivery when India needed five runs to win.

It was only a boundary which could have saved India from a defeat as a four would have resulted in a draw while a six was enough for India to win the game.

Karthik took the last ball from outside off stump and smashed a flat six over extra cover to clear the fence and ensure an emphatic victory for the team.
