NZ vs PAK, 1st T20I: Twitter Trolls Pakistan After Another Horror Batting Display
Updated - 22 Jan 2018, 11:36 AM
Even a change of formats did not change Pakistan’s dismal fortunes with the bat as they came up with another horror batting display in the first T20I against New Zealand. Pakistan were whitewashed in the preceding 5-match ODI series and are looking set to lose the first T20I too. Sent in to bat first, Pakistan were all out for a mere 105 with two balls remaining.
The reigning Champions Trophy holders, who were all out for just 74 in the fourth ODI, were looking destined for an embarrassing total after being reduced to 38 for 6 but Babar Azam held firm from one end and remained until the end before becoming the last Pakistani wicket to fall as the Men in Green managed to cross the 100-run mark.
The visitors were off to an awful start with their openers Fakhar Zaman and Umar Amin departing for 3 and 0 respectively. Mohammad Nawaz and Haris Sohail, who followed them, also returned to the pavilion quickly after managing just 7 and 9. Babar Azam held to keep one end tight but wickets kept on tumbling from another end before he and Hasan Ali shared a 30-run stand to take the team close to the 100-run mark. Azam tried his best to take Pakistan to a competitive total but lack of support from the other end did not let him achieve it as Pakistan were bundled out for just 105. 9 batsmen could not cross the double-digit mark while 3 of them even failed to open their account. Seth Rance and Tim Southee starred with the ball for the hosts, taking 3 wickets apiece.
Meanwhile, Twitter was quick to troll Pakistan after yet another poor batting display. Here are some of the reactions:

Babar Azam today batted 37 consecutive balls without hitting a boundary which is a new unwanted record for Pakistan in T20Is. Previous: Saad Nasim (32 balls) vs Australia, Dubai, 2014. #NZvPak
