The teenage prodigy Prithvi Shaw, who led the Indian colts towards fourth Under19 World Cup title, believes he is ready for the international stage. Shaw affirms that even though the coveted tournament is history now, the words from coach Rahul Dravid and support staff boosted confidence.

Shaw displayed few glimpses of his pedigree at the International arena against the likes of Trent Boult and Tim Southee last year. He took on the dreaded Kiwi duo in October during a warm-up game to show his class at the big stage.

Think I am ready,. I am doing my job. It is all about how much you score, how fit you are at that level. Maybe the selectors are looking at me. I have to grab the opportunities,” claimed Prithvi Shaw according to DNA.

The latest gem produced by Mumbai Cricket already had a successful season behind him where he scored a ton in all the major domestic competitions. Shaw is now looking forward to the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinals and affirmed that the U19 journey is history now.

I think the Under-19 World Cup is history now. All the memories we have created are still in our minds. All those things that Rahul (Dravid) sir and all the other support staff told during the journey of the World Cup are all there. But, we have to move on at some point. Personally, I am looking forward the Vijay Hazare Trophy quarterfinal,” added the 18-year old.

Shaw pulled off a telekinetic move with his teammates falling backwards (hypnosis celebrations). Indian U19 captain planned the celebration prior to the winning runs in the finals.

Such a celebration happens in FIFA PS4 games. After a player scores a goal, his celebration is like that. When four or five runs were needed to win the final, we decided that we would celebrate that way,” concluded Prithvi Shaw.
