PSL: Peshawar Zalmi Ropes in Saqlain Mushtaq as the Bowling Consultant

Former Pakistan cricketer Saqlain Mushtaq joins defending champions Peshawar Zalmi as the bowling consultant.

Further, Peshawar Zalmi confirmed the news. They added that team’s head coach Mohammad Akram would get the support of Sqlain. Also, Saqlain will sit in the dugout as the spin bowling consultant.

Mushtaq will join the Zalmi squad in Dubai later today. Previously, he had worked with the England cricket team as the spin bowling coach. Further, he also worked with the Bangladesh team in the same position.

Pakistan Super League schedule:

Meanwhile, the third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) starts from February 22. Defending champions Peshawar Zalmi will face newcomers Multan Sultan in the opening fixture.

Further, Lahore will host the two playoffs while Karachi’s National Stadium will host the final on March 25.

Saqlain Mushtaq’s career:

The 41-year old Saqlain represented Pakistan in both Tests and ODI formats. He played 49 Tests matches and 169 games in the coloured jersey bagging 208 and 288 wickets, respectively.

Also, he invented famous ‘doosra’; a variation off-break bowlers use often to deceive the batsmen.
