Indian team could very well be the part of history this year by playing a pink ball Day/night Test against Windies.

The Carribean team is scheduled to travel India for two Tests, five ODIs and three T20Is later this year.

During this series, India might play their first ever Test pink ball Test.

A report in TOI suggests that Ravi Shastri, the Head Coach of Indian cricket team, has given positive signs to BCCI and has said that it (pink ball Test) can be tried out.

With coach giving positive signs of playing the historic game, India look all set to make history.

The first ever pink ball Test was played between Australia and New Zealand in 2014.

From then, many of the countries went onto play a Test with a pink ball.

India also moved a step ahead of creating history when BCCI organised Duleep Trophy with a pink ball in 2016.

The same year, there were high hopes of one of Test between India and New Zealand being a day/night affair the but the idea could not materialise.

BCCI again organised a pink ball Duleep Trophy in 2017 to keep the idea afloat.

The same year, there were reports that India might make pink ball debut on tour of Australia in 2018/19.

However, India seem to test out the plan first in the home conditions before playing with it away from home.

With the board all set to announce the fixtures for the home season soon, it will be clear whether team India will create history this year or will wait for a couple of more years.

Presently, Indian team is in South Africa and is all set to play the last game of the long South Africa tour.

The last T20I will be played on February 24 at Newlands in Cape Town.

India lost the Test series by a margin of 2-1.

Later, the Virat Kohli led side made a comeback and won the ODI series by 5-1.

The T20I series has reached an interesting point and the third and the final game will decide the winner of the T20I series.
