Ravichandran Ashwin's Wife Trolls Him On Valentine's Day

On a day when most of the couples are busy wishing each other, Ravichandran Ashwin ended up getting trolled by his wife. And the India spinner only has himself to blame for such a treatment on Valentine’s Day.

It all started when the ace spinner took to Twitter to post a picture of himself with few colleagues of Gen-Next Cricket Institute. The India off-spinner is Gen-Next’s Brand Ambassador & Chief Mentor. The institute is run by Ashwin’s father, Mr.N.Ravichandran in Chennai.

Ashwin had posted the message at night and his wife Prithi has had enough. Not seeing even a single message for her on the Valentine’s Day, Mrs. Ashwin finally reacted. The reaction was as hilarious as one can expect.

“Which one is the Valentine? ?,” she wrote.

International career:

Ashwin’s international career is not panning out in a way he would have wanted. The spin spearhead of the team across formats not long way, Ashwin has now fallen down the pecking order in limited-overs cricket.

The 30-year old has not played any One-day International since June 2017 during the West Indies tour. His last Twenty20 International too. With Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav doing well at the moment, chances of seeing Ashwin in coloured jersey is looking bleak. In fact, few are also expecting that Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja would not make it to the squad for next year’s World Cup.

However, India bowling coach Bharat Arun recently insisted that the door is still not shut on Ashwin and Jadeja.

“At that point of time we wanted to try out all the talent we had and then wanted to decide who we wanted for the World Cup. We had a good pool of bowlers and given the volume of cricket we are playing, we needed to keep rotating the bowlers and keep them fresh for every format. These two bowlers showed a lot of promise and we thought that in these conditions wrist spinners would do a lot more than the finger spinners. They have come to the party here. It is not that Ashwin and Jadeja are out of the race, they could still be in the team,” Arun had said.
