Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane To Be Star Attraction In Mumbai T20 League Auction

Mumbai players like Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer will be the star attraction in the Mumbai T20 league auction.

These player are expected to enter the auction for the league, a report in mid-day suggests.

Since, apart from Rohit, none of the other players is a regular part of the T20I team, all these are expected to ply their trade in the league.

In fact, Rohit might also play few games if he is rested for the Nidahas Trophy, to be played in Sri Lanka.

Prithvi Shaw is also expected to be part of the auction, and it will be practice for him before he joins Delhi Daredevils camp for his maiden IPL stint.

The owners of the franchises though might be reluctant to buy any of these players, despite many of them not being part of the T20I side.

Iyer, Rahane and Prithvi might be included n the sides for Deodhar Trophy and Irani Cup, which will automatically rule them out of the T20 league.

Shardul Thakur might also play these tournaments if he does not go to Sri Lanka for the T20I series.

Though, many of the star Mumbai players will play the league.

Mumbai failed to qualify for the next stage of Vijay Hazare Trophy, which meant an end of the season for them.

Now, the next competition many of Mumbai players will be playing IPL.

The inaugural edition of Mumbai’s T20 league will star on March 11, with final to be played on March 21.

Sachin Tendulkar has been roped in as the brand ambassador of the league.

As per the rules, players who are eligible to play for Mumbai will only be part of the league.

It means that players like Wasim Jaffer, Sarfaraz Khan will not be part of the league as they play for some other state.

A franchise can spend 35 Lakhs on players salary while Rs 15 Lakh can be spent on coaches.
