Rohit Sharma Brutally Trolled After Getting Out For A First-Ball Duck
Updated - 22 Feb 2018, 02:44 PM
The swashbuckling opener from Mumbai, Rohit Sharma got heavily trolled as he continues to fail with the bat. Meanwhile, South Africa defeated India by six wickets to level the series with one match still to play.
Rohit’s poor run-scoring spree continues as he got out in the first ball of the second over. Junior Dala trapped Rohit right in front of the wicket to give South Africa an early breakthrough. This inning makes Rohit a holder of an unwanted record. He now tops the chart of Indian batsmen with the most number of ducks in T20Is.
How did the match go:
The host banked on Heinrich Klaasen and skipper JP Duminy to chase down India’s target of 189 runs.
Batting first, India posted 188 runs on the scoreboard after a shaky start. Manish Pandey (79*) and MS Dhoni (52*) helped India go closer to the 200-run mark. The duo added 98 runs for the fifth wicket as South African bowlers found it tough to break the partnership. Dhoni was back to the finisher role scoring quick runs at the back while Pandey played a classic knock.
In reply, South Africa played an attacking game taking on the Indian bowlers. Duminy played the waiting game scoring 64 runs from 40 balls while Klaasen took the attack to the opposition. Klaasen departed scoring 69 runs off just 30 deliveries including seven mammoth sixes. Further, Farhaan Behardien finished the game off scoring 16 runs off 10 balls with six wickets in hand.
Rohit Sharma trolled by fans:
The swashbuckling opener, Rohit Sharma is one of the most talented batsmen in this India’s batting line-up. However, he has had a tough time in the ongoing South Africa series. While he has looked good but his scores are far from impressive.
However, in the last game, Rohit got out for not in the first ball he faced. This irked his fans and let out their frustrations on social media sites.
