Rohit Sharma Shares the Experience When He Met Ritika For the First Time

Rohit Sharma scored his third One Day international double hundred against Sri Lanka in Mohali earlier this month and had got himself in the record books. He is the only batsman to score multiple double centuries in the limited-overs format. Records seem to be Rohit’s way in the current series against Sri Lanka as he also scored the joint fastest century in T20 internationals in just 35 balls with South African David Miller.

Rohit who is not officially known as the marathon man in the ODI format scored his third double hundred in Mohali on 13^th December which is also the date of his marriage anniversary. Rohit married Ritika Sajdeh in 2015 and had been showing his love for his wife on social media quite frequently.

Rohit is one of the very few cricketers to post personal pictures and videos on the social media platform, and the couple is one of the popular couples amongst the Indian on the social media platform.

The couple has never backed out on displaying affection for each other in public be it in the IPL or during the international matches. Ritika has been one of Rohit’s biggest supporters, and Rohit has always made sure he gives credit to her whenever due.

On a chat show with Gaurav Kapoor named Breakfast with Champions, Rohit spoke about his first meeting with Ritika. He said:

 “It’s a funny story, I am a little embarrassed to tell you but it was a shoot that we were doing. I was 20 then, I had no idea then. I reached the location of the shoot, so Yuvi and Irfan were also present at the shoot. I went to meet Yuvi in his trailer to oblige the senior player, (laughs). So I said hi to him and Ritika was sitting next to him and before I could start any conversation, Yuvi was like stay away from her she’s like my sister. So for the entire shoot I was so furious at Ritika and what’s with that attitude.”

“After my completing my shot, the director came up to me and said sir you’ll have to reshoot the scene because your was switched off. So I went downstairs and Riitika was standing there so she asked me politely if I needed some help. And after that we became very good friends the rest is history.”
