Cape Town Virat Kohli Anushka Sharma
Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma share a light moment in Cape Town ahead of the first Test match.

While Virat Kohli is well aware of the enormity of the task ahead as a batsman and skipper, he is not letting it hamper his just started married life.

Kohli and Anushka tied the knot in Italy last month and hosted a couple of lavish receptions before jetting off to South Africa where Kohli & Co. will take on the Proteas in a full-fledged series.

But while there are just a couple of days left before the first Test gets underway in Cape Town, the India skipper seems to be having a good time with his wife in the rainbow nation. On the new year’s day, the 29-year old had posted a beautiful selfie with Anushka on his social media account and posted another one on Wednesday (January 3).

In a loving tweet for his wife, Kohli wrote:

“Cape Town is such a beautiful place anyways, and even more beautiful with my one and only! ?❤.”

Kohli, meanwhile, had already made it clear his mini-break from the game would not affect his batting in the upcoming challenging series against South Africa. Kohli, who is yet to lose a Test series as a skipper, did not play in the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka because of the wedding but is confident of switching back to the game from the mini-break without any problem.

“I was away for something (marriage) which is much more important. That is a period that will always remain special for both of us,” he had said in Mumbai before the team’s departure to South Africa.

“Switching back to cricket is not difficult at all because it is in my blood like it is for every other team member and the team management as well, so getting back to professional front is not difficult at all.

“I haven’t done anything in the past three weeks. I have been training to get back to play in South Africa. Somewhere in your head you are always thinking about you have something important coming up, so subconsciously you are looking forward to it (South Africa tour). So, mentally I am very well prepared,” he had added.
