Saba Karim, General Manager of BCCI (Cricket Operations), wants the Indian team management to submit a report to Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) after every tour, a report in TOI suggests.

However, it has not gone down well with the Indian team management, as according to the management, it is answerable to COA and not CAC, the report adds.

CAC was appointed in the year 2015.

CAC is a committee comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman – formed in 2015. The role of the committee was determined the same year, and it had the job to advice BCCI on cricket related issues.

However, till now, the role doesn’t seem to be performed by the committee, and only work that it has done is to select the coach.

In 2016, it was CAC that chose the coach while in 2017 as well, the committee performed the same role.

Apart from that, there is no functioning of CAC, and the committee only comes into play when BCCI needs a coach.

Ravi Shastri
Ravi Shastri is currently the Head Coach of Indian cricket team.

Since the Ravi Shastri and his coaching staff was handed the contract until 2019, there is no role that CAC will have until 2019.

It will only come into play after 2019 World Cup when again, BCCI will invite applications for the post of Head Coach and CAC, in consultation with captain will name a new coach.

Earlier, there were reports that CAC had also asked for salary but BCCI denied the reports. The board stated the members of the committee are doing the job on an honorary basis.

Hence, it is clear Tendulkar, Ganguly and Laxman are not being paid for the job. If they were paid for the job, it would have come under the Conflict of Interest.

A coach or anyone associated with BCCI cannot be associated with any other team or job.

It saw Rahul David leaving his job in IPL and Sunil Gavaskar closing down player management wing of PMG. He is a contracted commentator with BCCI, the reason why he had to shut down the management wing.
