Master blaster of Indian cricket, Sachin Tendulkar lauded skipper Virat Kohli for playing an important inning. Kohli scored 153 runs in the first dig, as India fell 28 runs short of South Africa’s 335.

Kohli failed to get going in the first Test at Cape Town despite coming from a good home season. However, he came back stronger in the second Test playing a valuable knock of 153. Kohli played some delightful shots as he eased his way to the 100-run mark.

With this hundred, Kohli became the second Indian batsmen to score two or more hundreds in South Africa. Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar was the first to do so.

Kohli stood in front of South Africa seamers as wicket tumbled from the other side. All-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin played a quickfire knock of 38 runs with the help of 7 boundaries.

Kohli also became the third batsmen in the world to score 150+ runs against all the teams he has played against. India’s Sachin Tendulkar and Aussie stalwart Steve Waugh are the others to achieve this feat.

Sachin took to Twitter to congratulate Kohli and stated that India has excellent chance to win if they bowl well.

Sachin wrote:

Important innings played by @imVkohli If we bowl well, we have a chance to do something special. Come on guys!!”

India got early breakthroughs as Jasprit Bumrah removed Aiden Markram and Hashim Amla cheaply.

India is 1-0 down in the series having lost the Cape Town Test by 72 runs.
