Team India suffered a blow in the 2nd T20I against the Proteas after losing the match by six wickets. The hosts, on the other hand, also kept the three-match series alive.

The decider will be played at the SuperSport Park in Centurion tomorrow. The visitors have been simply superb in the limited-overs leg of the tour so far and will consider the defeat as a minor hiccup.

Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal who had been brilliant in the ODI series returned with the most expensive figure in T20I’s from a spinner. He ended up giving away 64 runs in 4 overs. It was Heinrich Klassen in particular who went berserk against Chahal. As many as four sixes were struck in a matter of 9 deliveries. Skipper JP Duminy who started of badly slowly started growing in confidence in the company of Klassen. It was the southpaw who finished off the deal for the hosts.

After batting first India posted a competitive score of 188/4. It was largely built around a couple of exceptional knocks by Manish Pandey and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Both remained unbeaten, and it was a great recovery from the duo. India was reduced to 90/4 and was falling apart when Dhoni and Pandey started taking on the South African bowlers.

Pandey remained unbeaten on 79 of 48 deliveries while Dhoni scored a superb 52 of 28 deliveries. Sixes kept flowing from Dhoni’s bat as India reached a relatively big score of 188. South Africa will look to continue their good work and finish the limited overs leg on a high. It will be a great effort from the hosts if they do manage to win the T20I series especially after going down in the ODI series pretty meekly.

India will look to play Kuldeep Yadav in the decider. The left-arm chinaman bowler was simply superb in the ODI series. However, he hasn’t got an opportunity in the shortest format. Chahal might face the ax in the final ODI while speedster Jasprit Bumrah is also expected to make a return. South Africa, on the other hand, is unlikely to tinker with their combination

Here is the Predicted XI’s

South Africa- JJ Smuts, Reeza Hendricks, JP Duminy, David Miller, Heinrich Klassen, Farhaan Behardien, Chris Morris, Andile Phehlukwayo, Dane Paterson, Tabraiz Shamsi, Junior Dala

India- Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Jasprit Bumrah.

It was a sensational day for the Proteas to make a comeback in the three-match series. However, India has been utterly dominant in the limited-overs leg of the series and will look to end the tour on a high. They will start as favorites for yet another occasion. However, the hosts showed in the last encounter that they can play the big shots on a consistent basis.
