Joshi, who played 69 One-day internationals, added the spinners in the form of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja followed by Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are looking forward to the coveted event in 2019.

“Healthy competition is always good. If India is looking at the 2019 World Cup, T20 World Cup or the Champions Trophy, it will surely bear in mind these four spinners – Chahal, Kuldeep, Ashwin as well as Jadeja,” Joshi was quoted as saying by Sportstar.

As the domination from the young, aggressive spinners kept the seniors out of the competition, Joshi hints the variety will play the crucial role shortly.

The 47-year-old Karnataka-born Sunil Joshi reiterated the league has further made the players strong to deliver in the top-flight cricket. He lauded the wrist spinners for playing a major role.

“Both have played with and against certain batsmen in the IPL in India where the grounds are small and they’ve refocused their skill on getting the ball to turn,” Joshi further said.

Moreover, he further remarked the first-class fixture had had a massive impact on the players in a nutshell.

“The amount of first-class games, the India A tours and to top it all off, the IPL,” Joshi maintained.

In the recently concluded bilateral series in South Africa, Chahal-Kuldeep Yadav shared 33 wickets in the six-match One-day International series. Both bagged the scalps at an average of 15.12 with an impressive economy rate of 4.82.

“They’ve enhanced it by bowling the extra number of deliveries in the nets and during a match,” Sunil Joshi asserted.

The former cricketer Joshi has further praised Team India skipper Virat Kohli while showing trust upon the prominent faces.

On the other side, the 82-year-old Vaman Kumar, who represented India in two Tests has observed the Kuldeep and Chahal while stating the duo can’t be termed as ‘stock bowlers.’

“You cannot have Kuldeep and Chahal as stock bowlers,” Vaman added.

The former leg-spinner Vaman asserted both had fared well while never bogging down against the opposition.

“Both are always attacking; never trying to tie down the opposition. That’s the secret of their success,” Vaman said.

With the ability to deceive the batsman, Kuldeep has been impeccable with the line and length according to Vaman.

“He (Kuldeep) is not a very big turner of the ball but beats the batsman with deceptive flight. He’s able to hide the dip by imparting revolutions to the ball,” Vaman said, who also bagged 599 first-class scalps for Tamil Nadu.

Vaman added the 27-year Chahal is asking batsman to lung forward to make it interesting with such aggression.

“Chahal bowls the leg-break with over-spin and the top-spinner. He tries to draw the batsman forward with the dip, so the combination of fingers, wrist and arm is working for him,” Vaman concluded.

Vaman concludes by saying Chahal uses his googly well.
