Team India Practices Indoor Due to Showers in Newlands

Indian team was forced to train indoors due to heavy shower ahead of the first Test from January 5 at Newlands.

Team India uploaded the image of team practicing indoors from their official Instagram account and the post read: “And we’ve moved indoors for the training session #TeamIndia”

Wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha was also spotted in a video where he was sporting his football skills.

Opener Murali Vijay, who had a strong comeback against Sri Lanka was also seen waiting were his batting turn while India was in full preparation mode ahead of the first Test.

The 33-year-old Vijay registered 292 runs in 2 Tests at an average of 97.33, including two centuries to become the third highest run-scorer in the home series against Sri Lanka.

With Shikhar Dhawan ruled out from the first Test due to an injury, Murali Vijay will open the bat with KL Rahul when India starts their campaign at the Rainbow Nation.

While everyone was spotted giving their best at the indoor, top-order batsman Cheteshwar Pujara seemed to enjoy the rain at the lush-green Newlands stadium.

Team India under the leadership of Virat Kohli will play three Test followed by six ODIs and three T20s during their two-month long tour. It will be a crucial series for team India after their unbeaten run in the long home season.

India has a very poor Test record in South; however, this team is confident about changing the fortunes.
