There is no doubt about the fact that the introduction of Twenty20 cricket has inducted a fearless attitude among the modern-day batsmen.  Especially, in the last 7-8 years, cricket has gone to a whole new level. Sixes are even being hit on the first ball of a Test match and most of the teams have a positive attitude on how they approach the game. Moreover, the top ten batters lined up have been fascinating throught.

In the modern era, T20 leagues are being played all across the cricketing nations and some of the shots executed by the modern day stars are something extraordinary. Slowly and steadily it is becoming one of the most talked about formats and is circling a considerable amount of time in the calendar year.

Now let us have a look at the Top ten players with most sixes in T20I cricket:

Chris Gayle – 103 Sixes

His calls himself the Universal Boss of T20 cricket. There is definitely no doubt about the fact that Chris Gayle is arguably the greatest ever T20 cricketer and his records speak of his credentials, especially in the shortest formats.

In 55 T20I matches, the destructive southpaw has smashed 103 sixes besides smashing a couple of centuries and 13 half-centuries with a highest score of 117.

Martin Guptill- 98 Sixes

The Kiwis opener is also a destructive opening batsman and when he is set he can make batting look ridiculously easy.

Martin Guptill can clear any ropes on a consistent basis and can decimate any star-studded bowling attack. However, he hasn’t been consistent enough which has cost him his place on quite a few occasions. He is second on the list with 98 sixes to his name in 73 encounters.

Brendon McCullum- 91 Sixes

The former New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum still remains one of the most adored cricketers and the way he played the game was always in the right spirits. He was a fearless batsman and was among the very few players who approached all 3 formats of the game in a similar manner.

In his farewell Tests, McCullum scored the fastest Test century which came in a mere 56 deliveries. He is 3rd on the list with 91 sixes in 71 matches.

Shane Watson- 83 Sixes

The out-of-favour Australian all-rounder Shane Watson was a destructive batsman during his prime and even now has the ability to showcase his power-hitting skills with the bat.

Watson emerged as a terrific limited overs batsman over the years but hasn’t been in the best of forms in the recent past. The all-rounder has smashed 83 sixes in 58 T20I’s and is fourth in the list.

David Warner- 79 Sixes

Sourav Ganguly rated David Warner as the best modern-day left-handed batsman across formats. He has been a consistent performer for the Aussies and in the shortest format, he is one of the most feared batsmen.

The southpaw made his mark in international cricket from the shortest format and who would have thought that he would go on to become one of the most prolific batsmen across formats.

In the list for most sixes in T20I’s Warner occupies the fifth spot with 79 sixes.

Yuvraj Singh- 74 Sixes

Yuvraj Singh, the southpaw is the most stylish left-handed batsman I have seen. He is definitely a treat to watch. However, with age not in his side, the southpaw has been failing yo-yo tests which have ruled out in his comeback from the national team yet again.

Yuvraj had a sensational inaugural World Twenty20 in 2007 which India won beating Pakistan in the final. The southpaw smashed 6 consecutive sixes to Stuart Broad against England in a group game. He also played a match-winning against the Aussies in the Semi-final. The southpaw is sixth on the list with 74 sixes from 58 games.

Shahid Afridi- 73 Sixes

For a batsman who has hit more than 300 ODI sixes, there is no doubt about the fact that he should be on the list even when it comes to the shortest format. Shahid Afridi hasn’t batted enough in this format and thus occupies the seventh spot with 73 sixes in 98 encounters.

He was one of the most destructive batsmen during his prime and still continues to possess a threat to any bowling line-up especially in T20 competitions.

Eoin Morgan- 70 Sixes

The English limited overs skipper, Eoin Morgan has evolved as one of the best English batsmen in the limited overs format. He has been a prolific run scorer for England in ODI’s and T20I’s.

It has been his inspiring leadership that had turned the England team ever since their embarrassing ouster from the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The southpaw holds the eighth spot in the list with 70 sixes in 71 encounters.

Colin Munro- 69 Sixes

Colin Munro is the only player in the world to smash three T20I centuries. The southpaw has got the Kiwis off to brilliant starts on quite a few occasions but hasn’t been able to remain consistent.

Munro is a sensational hitter of the ball. During the series against India, we again witnessed his power hitting skills. The southpaw smashed a sensational century in the 2nd ecounter which literally broke the bakcbone of Indian bowling.

In the list for most sixes in international T20’s, Munro is ninth on the list with 69 hits over the fence

Mohammad Shehzad- 68 Sixes

The Afghan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Shahzad is one of the most prolific run-scorers from his nation.

His fearless attitude is something which the Afghans can be proud of. He has the ability to smash the big sixes quite consistently.

Shahzad is tenth in the list with 68 sixes in 60 matches.
