There has been doubt about the fact that wrist spinning duo Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal has been quite superb in the ongoing ODI against South Africa so far. The South African batsmen have been left clueless in front of their guile and variations and have faltered quite miserably. The dup has been quite phenomenal in the middle overs and on most occasions they haven’t allowed the South African middle order to get going in the middle overs.

The duo has been the pillars behind India’s maiden series victory in the Rainbow Nation. There have been very few spinners who have been taken wickets this consistently in bilateral series. So now let us have a look at the top 4 spinners with most wickets in a bilateral series

Mishra who is not in the Indian scheme of things anymore with the introduction of two young wrist spinners Chahal and Kuldeep performed brilliantly against Zimbabwe during their 5 match bilateral series against the African minnows. India ended up whitewashing them. It was also Virat Kohli’s maiden series victory and that to by a convincing margin. The leggie bagged 18 wickets in the series and became the most successful spinner in an ODI bilateral series.

The left-arm chinaman bowler has been a wonder boy in the Indian cricketing circles in the recent past and has bamboozled star-studded batsmen with his guile and variations. He has already bagged 18 wickets in the series so far and none of the batsmen has been able to pick him barring Heinrich Klassen and David Miller in the 4th ODI.

The Afghan teenage sensation has been one of the prime reasons why Afghan cricket has improved by leaps and bounds in the recent past. He has a sensational record to boast off in both ODI’s and T20I’s and has bamboozled many world class batsmen in his career so far. During a 5 match series against Ireland in 2017, the leggie ended up bagging 16 wickets.

Chahal has been the stand out performer for India in the bowling department alongside Kuldeep and has bagged 16 wickets in the series so far. He returned with his best ODI figures of 5/22 in the 2nd ODI and has played an instrumental role in helping India win their maiden bilateral series on South African soil.
