After suffering a humiliating defeat by seven wickets at the hands of the visiting Sri Lankan team in Dharamshala, the Indian team went into the second match with one change.

The 18-year old Washington Sundar makes his debut for the Men in Blue, and thus replaced left-arm leg-spin bowler Kuldeep Yadav.

The cricketer from Tamil Nadu, Sundar has had a wonderful domestic season and rose to fame with his stint with the IPL franchise Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017.

He was instrumental in the team’s success to reach the final; however, his team lost the summit clash to Mumbai. Sundar picked up eight wickets from the 11 matches he played, and he was very economical.

It will be a very good opportunity for the young off-spinning all-rounder to impress the selectors and make a way into this team on a consistent basis.
