Maharashtra will miss the services of all-rounder Kedar Jadhav in the ongoing quarterfinal of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The 32-year-0ld Pune-based Jadhav, who was part of the ODI side for South Arica series, has returned to the country.

The batting all-rounder is not a part of the ongoing three-match Twenty20 International serious for India. Although, he would have been available to play for his state-side.

However, he missed last three ODIs of the series due to injury, which can be the reason behind him not participating in the contest.

Though, Kedar Jadhav might feature in the upcoming Deodhar Trophy. However, he is not expected to make the cut into the T20I side for the Nidahas tri-series in Sri Lanka.

Many of the ODI players, who are not a part of the T20I side, would ply their trade in the Deodhar Trophy.

Jadhav is not the lone international player – to miss the knockout game as Ajinkya Rahane has also decided not to play the game for Mumbai. He has asked selectors for some rest, as he was a part of the Indian team in both Test and ODI series.

Shreyas Iyer, on the other hand, has decided to play the tournament.

He will be part of the Mumbai side that will face Maharashtra on February 21 at Palam A ground. There is one change in Maharashtra side for the knockout game. An injured Shamshuzama Kazi has been replaced by Prashant Kore.

Maharashtra ended their league stage phase as the top placed team in the points table.

They won four games and suffered defeat in one contest. One of their games was a washed out affair.

They posted a win in eventual pre-quarterfinal against Kerala in the last league stage to qualify for the knockout contest.

Again, the responsibility will heavily depend on the captain, Rahul Tripathi, Ankit Bawne and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
