Virender Sehwag Posts Fanboy Moment With Sachin Tendulkar on his 45th Birthday

When it comes to birthday messages, there are very few who can do it better than Virender Sehwag.

Hailed as the Twitter king, the former India batsman has carved his niche on Twitter with his unique and witty tweets. Sehwag’s knack for playing with words, using puns and wit while tweeting has made him one of the most popular figures on the social media.

His millions of followers eagerly wait for his tweets especially the birthday tweets, and it is safe to that the batting legend never disappoints.

Well, his latest tweet for Sachin Tendulkar is yet another gem of a tweet. The batting maestro turned 45 on Tuesday (April 24) and as expected messages poured in from all quarters. But once again it was Sehwag who stole the limelight with his tweet.

Referring to a popular dialogue from Bollywood film ‘Fan’, the batting stalwart tweeted:

” Woh sirf ek Cricketer nahi,  Duniya hai Meri ! aur bahuton ki. Many more happy returns of the day to a man who could stop time in India (literally) .Thank you for making the Cricket Bat such a great weapon, which later many like me could also use. #HappyBirthdaySachin”

Tendulkar retired from the game as one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He made his debut at the age of 16 against arch-rivals, Pakistan in 1989.

After serving the nation for well over two decades, Sachin retired from the game in November 2013. The batting maestro finished his Test career with a record 15,921 runs in 200 Tests with the help of 51 centuries and 68 fifties.

A year before hanging up his boots from Tests, he had retired from ODIs. His last appearance in the 50-overs cricket came against Pakistan in 2012 Asia Cup. The greatest ODI player of all time, he finished his illustrious career in the 50-over format, having played 463 ODIs, scored 18,426 runs and made 49 centuries, each of them a world record.

He also represented India in one Twenty20 International against South Africa in 2006 when he managed to score ten runs.

Overall, he amassed a mind-boggling 34,357 runs and made 100 centuries in 664 international matches.
