Watch: Pumped Up Virat Kohli Gives Kagiso Rabada An Animated Send-Off

One of the biggest topic points in the ongoing battle between India and South Africa is the duel between Virat Kohli and Kagiso Rabada. Both the players are fierce competitors and like to come out on top in every fight.

If Kohli was leading his team exemplary in the Test series then Rabada was also not far behind. Their personal duel was a fight worth watching. Every time they locked horns, the world witnessed cricket of highest quality. But amidst all this, the tempers also flew whenever Kohli and Rabada squared up against each other.

Rabada never squandered any chance to sledge Kohli. The South Africa pacer gave the India skipper a verbal treatment whenever he dismissed him for bowl a good delivery. On the other hand, Kohli relied on his bat to do the talking and the result is there for all to see. Kohli finished the Test series as the highest run-scorer and is also leading the run-charts in ODIs.

But the kind of person he is, Kohli was never going to take Rabada’s words kindly. The aggressive Indian star finally let his emotions out on Tuesday (February 13) during the fifth ODI. Soon after Rabada was dismissed, Kohli gave him a mouthful. Rabada hit a poor shot to get out and had his head down in disappointment. It was enough for Kohli to get under his skin as he first celebrated the wicket before giving the Proteas pacer an animated send-off.

Meanwhile, India thrashed South Africa by 73 runs in the fifth ODI to claim their first-ever series in the rainbow nation. After scoring 274 for seven, India bowled out the hosts for just 201 runs – to register an impressive win.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma provided India with a good start. The duo added 48 runs, before Dhawan fell to Kagiso Rabada. Rohit and Kohli then shared a 105-run stand for the second wicket to lay the platform for a good total.

However, India failed to capitalise on the opportunity as middle-order struggled against hosts bowling line-up.

The tourists kept on losing wickets at regular intervals which stopped them from finishing the innings strongly. Rohit Sharma scored a fine 115 which helped India post a challenging 274 in the allotted 50 overs.

The bowlers then did a fine job to bowl out the hosts for just 201 inside 43 overs. Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball, picking up 4 while Yuzvendra Chahal and Hardik Pandya picked up two apiece.
