If we look at the bygone season of Ranji Trophy, two of the most exciting fast bowling prospects to come out of it are – Vidarbha pacer Rajneesh Gurbani and Delhi fast bowler Navdeep Saini. The contest between Delhi and Vidarbha was more of a competition between these two upcoming speedsters from the domestic circuit.

Both Saini and Gurbani have the reputation of cleaning batsmen up. Therefore, the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise had no second thoughts about snatching up Navdeep from the auctions into their arsenal, which already boasts speedsters such as Nathan Coulter-Nile, Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav and Chris Woakes.

One cannot help but imagine the amount of carnage all these aforementioned quicks would create bowling in tandem. The speedster has formerly donned the jersey of Delhi Daredevils but could not find an opportunity to represent the side and impress at the biggest stage.

However, things turned out to be different for the bowler after a brilliant season of 2017-2018. Saini, since making his First-class debut in 2013, has notched up a whopping 96 wickets in the 30 games he has played so far with best figures of 6 for 32.

Virat Kohli and co. would hope that Navdeep Saini would make every penny of INR 3 crores worth. RCB traditionally has struggled with their crop of Indian bowlers. Hopefully, the addition of Saini would put an end to their question marks over Indian seamer within their ranks.
