Cricketing days seem to be back in Pakistan as the Windies cricket team will travel to Pakistan in March 2018. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi has informed the media on Saturday (February 10).
Pakistan hosted Sri Lanka for a major Twenty20 International match in Lahore in October 2017, for the first time since the 2009 terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team which killed six policemen and wounded some Islanders players.
Although Pakistan managed to get Zimbabwe to tour Pakistan, the tour was not approved by the ICC.
Sethi also confirmed that they also penned a triangular series to be played in the US in August.
West Indies will host two South Asian teams in the US, in a triangular series with the third team being Bangladesh.
The series will have seven matches to be played between the three teams with Houston and Florida being the two venues. This will be the first time Pakistan will be played on American soil.
The Windies team was scheduled to tour Pakistan in November 2017 earlier, but the tour was further postponed due to adverse weather conditions in Lahore.
Moreover, some of Caribbean players commitment with the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Pakistan has played all their home games in the UAE since 2009 but the ICC made an effort to bring cricket back in Pakistan by sending a World XI team which played a three-match T20 series in Lahore.
It was then followed by the Sri Lankan team which played the last T20 of the three-match series in Lahore.
