Being the son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar obviously has its own advantages and perks but Arjun Tendulkar definitely knows that following in his illustrious father’s footsteps is a gigantic task. Well, the 17-year old is certainly on the right path to make his father proud. However, unlike the former India star the budding cricketer has decided to make a name for himself with the ball.

The 17-year old, who has represented Mumbai in Under-14 and Under-16 cricket, lives at an apartment owned by his father which is not very far away from Lord’s. He has been seen bowling to England’s men team on several occasions and was recently in news for nearly injuring Jonny Bairstow with a yorker before England’s first Test against South Africa. The left-arm pacer, nevertheless, was at Lord’s once again to bowl at India’s women team before the final of the World Cup. And according to reports, the left-arm pacer was clocking over 130 kph in the nets.

The youngster is certainly going in the right direction and is probably well aware of the pressure on him. In Tendulkar’s docu-drama ‘Sachin A Billion Dreams’, Arjun’s mother Anjali had said:“Arjun knows that he has a big responsibility and the pressure of being Sachin Tendulkar’s son will never leave him.”

Fast-bowling legend and director of MRF Pace Foundation Glenn McGrath had also expressed his desire of seeing Arjun in action.

“Sachin wanted to be a fast bowler. Is his son taller than Sachin? (reporters say yes), so that might help him. But that’s good to see and they have the love for the game. Sachin always wanted to be a fast bowler,” the former Australia pacer had said.
