Shoaib Malik, the veteran all-rounder, posted a video on Sunday, August 28, in which he can be seen sitting in the stands with Shaheen Shah Afridi.

The pair attended Pakistan’s Asia Cup Group A match against Rohit Sharma’s India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Before their Asia Cup campaign, Pakistan had suffered two injuries. Due to a knee injury, their star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was forced to withdraw from the competition. Mohammad Wasim Junior was also unable to participate because of a side strain.

Mohammad Wasim sustained the injury while bowling in a Pakistan practice session, while Shaheen picked up the injury while fielding during the first Test match against Sri Lanka in Galle.

Shaheen was replaced by Mohammad Hasnain, and Mohammad Wasim was replaced by Hasan Ali on the Pakistani team.

Naseem Shah, a youthful bowler, was given his first T20I cap on the other hand, ahead of the encounter against India at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

Pakistan ultimately lost by five wickets as India chased down 148 with two balls to spare. After the game, Malik stated in the video that the Men in Green missed Shaheen a lot.

“I think we are missing one person out there on the field right now,” Shoaib Malik captioned the video.

Many people were surprised when Shoaib Malik was not selected for the Asia Cup despite the team’s middle order having a lot of inexperience.

Pakistan’s frontline fast bowlers for the match against India were Naseem Shah, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Haris Rauf.

Pakistan is scheduled to face Hong Kong in their last Group A encounter on September 2.
