Afghanistan take on Pakistan in match 4 of the Super 4 stage of Asia Cup 2022. They lost their first Super 4 clash against Sri Lanka. Pakistan, on the other hand, defeated India in their first Super 4 game. A loss against Pakistan would all but end Afghanistan’s Asia Cup campaign.
Afghanistan skipper Mohammad Nabi after the loss against Sri Lanka said that they were 20-25 runs short of the par score. Afghanistan scored 183 against Sri Lanka which was successfully chased down by the Lankans.
” 20-25 runs short at the end. Also didn’t field very well. Also didn’t bowl in the right areas. When we played last game against Bangladesh, today the pitch was better (compared to that). We didn’t bowl brilliantly, dropped some catches. Situation could have been different” said Nabi.
Afghanistan have never beaten Pakistan in T20Is and ODIs so far. The side has played two T20Is and two games against Pakistan in the Asia Cup and lost all. They have to back the side that played against Sri Lanka to get the job done against Pakistan.
