Rishabh Pant is the first player on this list. In the last Border Gavaskar Trophy, Pant played a huge role in India’s victory. His 97-run knock helped the team to win the 4th Test, which helped India to clinch the series victory.

The left-handed batsman scored 274 runs in 5 innings. However, this time, Pant will not be part of the IND vs AUS Test series as he is recovering from a car accident.

2. Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane is another player who was part of the last Border Gavaskar Trophy and won’t be playing this time. Rahane led the team in three Tests in the last series in the absence of Virat Kohli. He also scored a match-winning century in the 2nd Test.

He hit 268 runs in 8 innings during the series. However, due to his poor show in the last two years, Rahane has lost his place in the Test side. This time, he is not part of the squad.

Hanuma Vihari is another player on this list. The right-handed batsman was part of the last Border Gavaskar Trophy. He also helped the team to draw the 3rd Test with his batting. However this time, Vihari is not part of the IND vs AUS series. The right-handed batsman has lost his place to middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer, who has done a decent job in recent times in Tests.
