India will take on Australia in the third and final ODI of the three-match series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, March 22. Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria said that Indian middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav will roar back to form in the series decider, following his failures in consecutive two matches.
Suryakumar Yadav’s place in the team came under fire after he was dismissed for first-ball ducks in the first two matches of the series in Mumbai and Visakhapatnam. The 32-year-old was trapped in front of the stumps in the same manner in both matches by left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc with a fast and full inswinging delivery.

Suryakumar Yadav Is Going To Come Back With A Bang – Danish Kaneria
In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Danish Kaneria believes that Suryakumar Yadav is going through a bad patch of form, but he is an excellent player and will return to form soon. Kaneria said Surya is the No. 1 T20I batsman in the world, but he has struggled to settle in India’s ODI setup.
“Suryakumar Yadav is in the middle of a bad patch. He is a fantastic player and will roar back to form soon. You need to give players some time when they are going through such a phase,” said Kaneria.
“When he regains his form, he is going to come back with a bang. I am sure we will get to see another classic knock from him in the third ODI. Now is the time for Suryakumar to rise high again,” Kaneria added.

India Should Try Out Sanju Samson – Danish Kaneria
Kaneria suggested that India should consider bringing wicket-keeping batter Sanju Samson back to the team if Suryakumar Yadav continues to struggle in ODIs. The former leg spinner said that Surya needed some time to work on his game before dropping from the squad.
“If Suryakumar Yadav continues to struggle in ODIs, India should try out Sanju Samson. He should be added back to the team. That won’t mean that Suryakumar will lose his place. It would give him some time to work on his game,” said Kaneria.
India started the series on a high note by beating the visitors in Mumbai. However, the Steve Smith-led team bounced back in the second game to level the three-match series at 1-1. The final game in Chennai will decide the winner of the series.
