Former India batsman Virat Kohli ended his century drought in red-ball cricket by scoring his 28th century in the fourth and final Test against Australia in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) at home. Former England captain Paul Collingwood hailed Virat Kohli’s stunning century and said he is a threat to the bowlers once he returns to form.

The 34-year-old scored a century in the longer format of the game after 1207 days and 41 innings since his last hundred against Bangladesh in 2019. The right-handed batsman scored 186 before being dismissed by Todd Murphy. Kohli missed the opportunity to score a double century against every opponent he played against in Test cricket, as he did against six other teams.

Would Love To See Rishabh Pant Back On The Field – Paul Collingwood

Collingwood praised Rishabh Pant and said that he is the batter with the ability to turn around a game. The former English all-rounder wished Pant a speedy recovery and said he would love to see him back on the field.

“He is the best batsman. The way he plays is awesome and he has the ability to turn around the game, but unfortunately, he isn’t part of cricket this time. I would love to see him back on the field…the world (of) cricket needs him badly,” Collingwood added.

The young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was sidelined from cricket for a few months due to injuries he sustained in a car accident on December 30. Pant was ruled out of the Test series against Australia and the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
